Creative Travel Photography Ideas in Florence, Italy
A few days into our week in Italy, Dan and I left Venice in the late morning and made our way towards Florence in the region of Tuscany. Our first stop of the day was in Fiesole, a small, quiet town at the top of a hill with impressive views of Florence. We had a late lunch (I had gnocchi and Dan grabbed a pizza) while booking our accommodation for that night and the night afterwards. Once we knew where we were staying in Florence, we decided to head into the city!
We dropped off our bags and our car at the hotel and set off to see Florence by foot. Oh my, I fell in love with Florence - it’s such a beautiful city with a magic about it I can’t quite put into words. Our first stop was the Duomo aka the Florence Cathedral which is SUCH a beautiful building, so of course we ended up taking hundreds of photos of and with it! We also made our way around the city to see Ponte Vecchio - the medieval bridge with houses and shops built on top of it - Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery, Santa Croce Basilica and so many other things along the way that I can’t even remember now!
On our last day in Florence, Dan and I woke up early, checked out of our hotel and drove to the Piazzale Michelangelo which is a plaza with the most beautiful views of Florence. If you’ve ever googled Florence, almost all the pictures you see of it are taken from this spot!
I vlogged our entire week in Italy, which you can find on my YouTube channel! I can’t wait to share my next blog post where we start making our way further down south of Italy and find a beautiful locals-only beach.
