By June this year, I had spent more time overseas than I have in Australia. When I returned from my trip to Lebanon for @fullyrawkristina, Dan and I made a super last minute decision to keep that trend going and we bought tickets for Europe! We wanted to see what it was like to live on the other side of the world for a little while, so as quickly as I was finally home, we packed our bags and headed to the airport the next day.

Our first flight left Sydney at night and we arrived in Tokyo, Japan in the early hours of the morning with an 8 hour layover ahead of us before our night flight. As I mentioned in my vlog from the trip, in the past I would have never been brave enough to leave the airport on a longer layover. But this time, I wanted to make the most of ever second I had and take the chance to explore the city!

We sleepily left Haneda Airport and made our way to the train. On our way to Shibuya Crossing, I couldn’t unglue my eyes from the window. I love seeing a new city for the first time - there are so many things to take in and to learn. I love seeing the way the light falls differently compared to what I’m used to, I love seeing the new buildings, the water, the graffiti, watching the locals on the train with us.

The rest of our layover was spent wandering the city, eating, lots of coffee drinking and taking photos of all the sights we saw around us. Our time in Tokyo was way too short and we are looking forward to coming back one day soon and spend some proper time to look around! But it was nice to get a glimpse at a city that I’ve heard and seen so much of through other people’s photographs.

Next stop, Poland!

I can’t wait to see you all in my next blog post which will be all about our first days back in beautiful Poland.

All photos edited with my Muse Lightroom Preset!
