Travel Photography in Prague, Czech Republic
It was a slow, rainy 5 hour drive from Poznan, Poland to make it to Prague, Czech Republic. We arrived in the late afternoon and checked into our hotel. It was one of the only hotels left in the city with parking which was a tight squeeze to get into. We dropped off our bags and wandered around the streets of Prague during the light afternoon rain which felt so fresh in the middle of summer.
Dan and I woke up late on our first day, we wanted to get up for sunrise but were too tired from the long drive the day before! We walked to Charles Bridge, but it was already full of people. Instead, we decided to walk to the next bridge over to cross to the other side. On the plus side, at least we had a good view of Charles Bridge!
We found Vojanovy Sady also known as the Vojan Gardens. It was a quiet oasis in the middle of a busy Prague with SO many peacocks! Afterwards, we grabbed brunch at a cute cafe called Cocovanka.
I'm using the Sony A7IV camera body for all these photos with my GM 35mm f1.4 lens. Watch my vlog from my time in Prague down below! I used the Sony A7sIII + GM 24mm f1.4 for the vlog and cinematic video footage. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel if you haven't already, I upload new photography videos every single week. And keep scrolling to read more about our first day in Prague throughout this blog post.

Dan and I are in Europe on our 2 month long road trip in the middle of summer July. After brunch, the light was strong and it was quickly getting hotter and hotter. We made our way up the old street which was a sea of people to Prague Castle. There were so many interesting shops, one was a gingerbread bakery that caught my eye with so many cookies on display. By the time we made it to the top and got a few photos of the landscape, it was time to hunt for ice cream. 2 flavours caught my eye because of their vibrant colours: sea berry and dragonfruit - both were delicious! All these photos are taken on the Sony A7IV camera body with my GM 35mm f1.4 lens.
It was time to head back down the stairs where I found an intersection with a huge, flowering tree. The flowers littered the floor in a carpet of while and I took so many photos. I also have lots of film photos from this little area too, which I will upload in a separate blog post in a couple of days. Please keep an eye out for that!
We made it to the Prague Royal Gardens which has a small admission fee. The gardens are gorgeous and I could easily spend hours there taking photos and taking in the view. It was now the middle of the day so I had extremely harsh light to work with for our photos. I usually prefer doing my photography in the early morning or afternoon when the light is softer. But I do also like experimenting and getting to try different things every once in a while. I like how shooting in harsh light makes you rely on your compositions more and you can end up with some fun, high contrast photos. All these photos are taken on the Sony A7IV camera body with my GM 35mm f1.4 lens.
Please watch my vlog from my time in Prague at the top of this blog post! I have more blog posts coming from Prague tomorrow, there will be 5 in total. Prague is a dream destination for photography and I definitely took a LOT of images. I thought it would be better to break it up into different parts!

Be sure to check out my other blog posts from Prague! I took so many photos during my 3 day stay in this city, I thought it would be best to break it up. I did 85mm photography at dusk and sunrise + a sunrise photo session in the Old Town Square with my 35mm lens. I also have one whole blog post dedicated to my film photography. See them all here:
