Sony GM 50mm f1.2 with A7C + A7III | a spring soiree
The GM 50mm f1.2 is Sony's latest premium prime lens delivering extremely sharp images. I use the GM 50mm f1.2 for portrait photography on the Sony A7III and Sony A7C. Watch my video below to see SOOC photos of this 50mm f1.2 and to see how it performs in the real world. I share video tests with the GM 50mm on the Sony A7sIII with movement to see the autofocus performance. This G-Master FE 50mm f1.2 is Sony's fresh take on the Zeiss 50mm f1.4. The Zeiss 50mm f1.4 is a lens in my camera bag that I use semi-regularly for portrait and wedding photography. A few things I love about the new GM version is the size and weight. Like the GM 35mm f1.4, Sony have kept this lens to a minimal size and weight which is handy for long days of shooting.
The autofocus performance is fast, even when shooting in strong back-lit conditions as shown in my behind the scenes video. The f1.2 aperture makes this the fastest G Master lens in Sony's line up. I love the dreamy bokeh and creamy backgrounds when shooting wide open. The photos at 100% zoom are also razor-sharp at f1.2 on my subject's eyes.
